Family Constellations - an innovative approach
April 26th 06, 7.30 - 9.30pm, £5 at the door
at Friends Meeting House, St Giles, Oxford
An evening for the general public and helping professionals,
to find out about this unique and increasingly popular method.
Hidden dynamics in family systems
Families can be a source of support and nourishment, but
also of suffering and distress. Patterns of thinking and behaviour are
often passed down the generations and replicated in the present. The roots
of these dynamics are often unknown and hidden, but they can cause all
kinds of symptoms and difficulties, including depression, chronic illness,
relationship problems, low self-esteem and questions of identity. Family
Constellations can help you become aware of hidden patterns in your own
and your family of origin, often leading to surprising resolutions and
healing of long-standing conflicts and problems.
What is a constellation ?
Using other members of the group who become representatives
of the significant people in your system, a constellation is a living
mapthat can reveal the deeper dynamics and allow a resolution that
was not possible before.
This evening will offer space for an experiential introduction
and one demonstration, followed by discussion.
